How many company’s do you know that use facebook?

I have to say that I’ve not been too much of a facebook fan but the Mrs has forced me to look at facebook from a marketers point of view…

The idea I have is to setup a “branded facebook profile” I of course have my own personal profile that hardly ever gets a look at. I was one of the people who disliked the endless ‘applications’ that used to come streaming through.

It was like opening the user end and having to look through endless invites to groups that bare no relevance to what interests me or my family… OK there was the odd one that I did like (I’m not too good with birthday’s so it’s cool to know when to send the cards in advance, even if they were ecards ) Read the rest of this entry »

It goes without saying that it’s a smart idea to have a bit of a buffer in your savings account just in case of those rainy days.

As a Family man with the usual trappings of a mortgage and kids that always need new shoes and outgrow cloths almost as fast as we buy them. Holidays abroad can be a real quick way to empty your pockets.

But there are ways that you can ensure you minimize your spend when abroad if you take a smart approach.

Just landed in Italy with my family for a holiday. A holiday including a trip to see some friends and family. There is my first tip for saving some money when abroad, only go where you have friends or family.

Some friends of mine always (who are teachers) always seem to be going away every school holiday…  I’ve always wondered how they do it as we all know teachers aren’t paid a great deal of money.
