Buying household furniture is straightforward, wouldn’t you think? Well, yes and no. Like anything you care to do properly there are key considerations in the way you do it. Purchasing a home computer desk is no different and you must become knowledgeable regarding what to consider prior to your purchase.

Your finances may be the single most limiting factor when you begin shopping. However, your budget may also be used to your gain. Wise consumers get the most profitable deals. If your finances are fairly tight then take your time to become informed regarding the different manufacturers, materials, styles and accessories available with each brand of computer desks. Furthermore shop used office furniture retailers and see what you are able to get and for how much. By learning as much as you can concerning your choices, you are going to have the ability to identify a good deal when it appears and grab it.

You imagine yourself sitting at a big magnificent, wood executive desk which has a matching credenza, hutch and free standing file cabinet, looking especially awesome. Therefore you make your purchase, next Wednesday the delivery guys come knocking and you recognize you did not calculate accurately… or at all. It takes place all the time. Once you take the home office furniture you like, ideally you will actually lay out the measurements of your office furniture before buying. Simply measure off the dimensions of every piece you expect to fit into your office and position a strip of tape on your floor to demonstrate the outlines. Painters’ tape is good for this and enables you to have a visual concept of how much room your furniture will use.

Excellence is key to long term fulfillment. Though there are selected well built furniture items made from manufactured wood (a.k.a. particle board) there is much junk as well. Along the same idea, there are numerous 100% wood products that are poorly made. So, what you do? Look for features along the lines of dove-tail joints and metal ball bearing glides on the drawers. For linking the main pieces of the desk, choose channel joint construction. In addition, study the testimonials of products you are thinking about buying to find out what others who own the furniture have to say. One final piece of advice is to always purchase the finest quality you can pay for, the added cost is more often than not offset by performance and durability.

Someone who is or will be working full time from home is going to have different requirements over the individual that only desires a spot to surf online, pay bills on the web and check email. The one who is working full time may require added desk top space, filing and storage capabilities and will want an ergonomic setting. Features such as a keyboard tray, cable management, and CPU storage will make one’s life less problematical and less cluttered while improving comfort. For the more casual home office users, not as many features are going to be required and therefore represents the opportunity for possible cost savings.

Additional file storage, possibly a fireproof filing cabinet, printer stand, a credenza for an additional computer, a visitors chair, a desk lamp; all of these possible additions will make your home office experience much more pleasurable. Plus there is always the requisite for a comfortable task chair, which is even more of an issue for the full timer. Bearing in mind the possibility of needing these items before buying and making certain to budget for them in the beginning makes good sense.

Allow the time to consider your existing space and which pieces you feel are needed. Figure in the features your desk requires dependent on how frequently you will be making use of it, as well as its construction quality, and purchase the best computer desk you are able to for the money you have to spend.

Violence On The Football Field From Women!

Posted on : 07-11-2009 | By : Smartdad | In : Off Topic!

catfightI used to live in a little flat in Tooting SW London, my flat mate had a girlfriend who used to play football, apperantly she was quite good, I believe she played for Arsnal women at the time.

I wonder if she ever got into any rumpas on the football field like these women do? I imagine she was a but of a bruser whilst playing soccer

Throwing elbows, punching in the back, tripping, hair pulling, kicking into someone’s face and sucker punches? Sounds like a typical scrum between young siblings. Well, in the 2009 MWN semifinal match between BYU and New Mexico, there was no lipstick, no perfume and no fingernail polish. There was, however, good old fashioned chick fighting.

Check out the BYU’s Kassidy Shumway (21) getting her bell rung (or neck snapped) by New Mexico’s Elizabeth Lambert (15). I loved a good chick fight as much as the next guy, but c’mon. That’s the equivalent of a guy hitting below the belt. That’s bush league, sweetie. Yep, bush league

No School Today – We Had A Riot

Posted on : 12-10-2009 | By : Smartdad | In : Family, Off Topic!

Not too often, but often enough :) I get to spend a day when the rest of you are working out with the little ones, today was one of those days.

It was a “teachers training day” (Never had that when I was at school). So surprisingly as soon as the Mrs left the both of them decided to get out of bed.

We started off with my favourite omelette’s for breakfast, I used to cook them every day for myself when I was a nipper yummy and my 2 just love them too, as long as there is no onion in them. They are so like me sometimes.. everything has to be put into a sandwich though so we had omelette sandwiched for breakfast lol.

The plan was to have a BBQ but it was bloody freezing so I decided that I couldn’t take the cold and went for a drive to a lovely little town about 30 mins away. Leah is a bit “arty” and it manefests it self in many ways. 2day we all had to wear red caps and body warmers and of course she was’t happy that I couldn’t find a red cap so made me wear one of hers. As we walked to the car she had a big gri as she called us the “red cap body warmer family”! She is as crazy as her Daddy.

Whilst on the journey we had the usual task of spotting yellow cars, (that we always have to let Kyle win) and had a great fun trying to desphypere that the Darth Vader voivve was telling us to do oon the TomTom. Actually we got a little lost, but we blamed it on Darth and changed to the ‘groovy baby’ Austin Powers instead.

We found a ‘park hus’ as they call it however I just could not for the life of me work out how to feed thhe meter to get a parking ticket. but I didn’t worry to much I would always plead ignorance and the fact that I don’t understand Swedish…

Linkoping was just as I remember it from al those years back when I visited it with Ana & Stephan, beutiful cobbled stones everywhere a lovely place. However it did small of horse phoo in the market square for some reason I couldnt fathom. Anyway ofcourse they were hungry and eve though I tried to brainwash them ito wanting a chicken kebab Kyle just wsn’t haveing any of it, so we went insearch of a Macky D’s… Could’t find one so we opted for a BK instead where mummy fund us:)

After a wader around the Town we decided to head back we saw some French guy’s practing their street dnce which prompted Kyle to start street walking (he was better than they were) and heded for the Park hus again… I thought I had lost the car but we found it after 10 mins or so. I was on the wrong floor, but my excuse was … Well I didn’t have one really.

Happy day’s.
