The festive spirit is somewhat staggered for far too many families this year I fear. I’m sure we all have our own stories of friends or family whom have had to change plans due to the snow this year, the news says 15’000’000 travelling today.

Imagine This Bliss

Imagine that the whole country was not under the grip of the god of snow and we all arrived at where we wanted to be all on time and everything was cool. Do you know what today is… It’s the day that everyone goes out and gets those little extras that they need to get before they can relax and say “I’m ready for Christmas”

It’s the busiest day on the high streets and it’s fair to say that you won’t be seeing goods at these prices for much longer because the VAT is going to be rising to 20% in the United Kingdom as of January 4th 2011 (20 picture from here)

I wonder how many are shopping now to save in 2011? With VAT going up in the UK to 20% is it worth trying to get a few bargains in now? I think it just might be a good idea if you can afford it.

I have other things on my mind. Like the burst pipe in the utility room, yet another small hill to climb until I too can settle down for the season. Seems that the pipe syndrome is not just me as I see close to be 2 other properties that have burst pipes! My partner being Swedish wonders why we have the pipes outside!
